Art and Jewelry and everything in between.
I now live in Cairo, Egypt where I teach and work as a full-time artist in my studio.
By virtue of being a multidisciplinary artist, my work does not fall under one category. I work best in combinations of mediums that address notions of functionality and wearability, a concept I have been exploring during my time at RISD in the Jewelry and Metalsmithing department. Driven by unraveling popular jewelry theory, I am interested in how we categorize and interact with wearable and non-wearable objects, how can we apply kinesthetic learning to contemporary jewelry and investigating ornamentation and its effects on how we aestheticize objects in relation to the body.
